Catalogue of the well-known collection of old English glass, the property of the late Hamilton Clements, Esq. (sold by order of the Executors). The second portion, comprising a fine selection of rare and interesting old English drinking glasses, including engraved, enamelled and cut wine, cordial and ale glasses; armorial, electioneering, masonic, privateer and Irish volunteer glasses; goblets of large size; many with colour twist stems, fine champagne and sweetmeat glasses, a superb collection of taper sticks and candlesticks, a remarkable Anglo-Venetian goblet and rummer, rare Jacobite and Williamite glasses, including portrait glasses of the young pretender, the Duke of Cumberland, and King William; and the famous Houghton glass, also a rare set of three Jacobite glasses with cryptic mottoes; many of the glasses described have been illustrated in standard works on the subject by Percy Bate, Joseph Bles, Francis Buckley, Grant R.
