Macdonald, Lower Park, Dedham, Essex, including Keats, Poems, 1817, Endymion, 1818, and Lamia, 1820, all in original boards, uncut; Tennyson, Poems, 1833, presentation copy with numerous author's corrections; Wordsworth and Coleridge, Lyrical Ballads, with the Bristol imprint, 1798; Gray's Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College, 1747; Benlowes, Theophila, 1652; Burton, Anatomy, 1621; Ford, Fames Memoriall, 1606; Herrick, Hesperides, 1648; Seager, Schoole of Vertue, an unrecorded edition, 1621; Jerome, Vitas Patrum, W. de Worde, 1495; and an interesting English illuminated manuscript of Caxton's Chronicle; also Lodge, Scillaes Metamorphosis, 1590, and Breton, Wits Private Wealth, 1611, from the library at Gaddesden Place, Hemel Hampstead, the property of Sir Walter Halsey, Bt.; works of travel, exploration and natural history; and Goldsmith's Deserted Village, 1770, and Retaliation, 1774, from the library at Bayfordbury, Herts., the property of H. Clinton Baker, Esq.; and a small collection of fine incunables, including Balbus, Catholicon, printed on vellum, 1460, the property of the ducal library at Gotha, the autograph letters, etc., include an important early letter from Burns, written from Lochlee in 1782, the property of Thomas D. Leith, Esq.; two hitherto unknown Dickens letters to Thomas Tegg regarding the proposal that he should write "Serjeant Bell", the property of Sir Frederick Fry, K.C.V.O.; a long letter of George Washington, the property of Col. Christopher Heseltine; and the Culloden papers, the property of the grandson of Major Hugh Robert Duff, of Muirtown, by whom they were edited; also oriental manuscripts, Persian and Indian drawings, including the property of Prince Günther von Schwarzburg, which will be sold by auction by Messrs.
