Catalogue of works of art, comprising Greek, Roman and Egyptian antiquities, silver, furniture, etc. old English and other China and pottery, glass, clocks, needlework, pewter and other metal work, Chinese pictures on glass, and including a collection of tortoiseshell, ivory and mother-o'-pearl work in tea caddies and other objects, repeating & striking watches, and pierced Leeds ware, the property of Ernest Marsh, esq. (many of which have been exhibited at the Kingston-upon-Thames Municipal Museum and Art Gallery), old English stemmed glasses, the property of A. Buckland Dixon, esq. of Selden House, Worthing, antiquities, etc. the property of the late Henry Richardson, esq. (mayor of Greenwich, 1909-10) rare Wedgwood medallion portraits, etc. which will be sold by auction by Messrs. - La vente eut lieu du 22 au 24 mai 1916 ; La maison de vente Sotheby, Wilkinson & Hodge, créée par Samuel Baker en 1744, prit le nom Sotheby’s en 1924 et déménagea de Wellington Street pour New Bond Street en 1917

- Ernest Marsh (1863-1945) fut un important collectionneur de céramique, notamment de la manufacture Martin Brothers, manufacture spécialisée dans la poterie en grès et active de 1873 à 1923
- Marsh fut l'un des fondateurs de la Contemporary Art Society en 1910 ; Il fit don de sa collection à plusieurs musées dont le British Museum, la South London Gallery ou encore la Walker Art Gallery de Liverpool
