- David Ginsburg (1831-1914) fut un érudit spécialiste de la Massore ou Massorah, l'ensemble de la ponctuation et des notes fixant le texte hébraïque de la Bible afin d'en éviter les altérations ; il rédigea de nombreux ouvrages sur le sujet
- Juif polonais, il se convertit au christianisme en 1846, prit alors le nom de Christian David Ginsburg et s'installa en Angleterre à la même période (cf. article paru à la mort de Ginsburg, The Times, 9 mars 1914)
