Shaw, Meredith's Poems, 1859, with profuse autograph additions; First editions of Brontë, Jane Eyre, 1847, De Quincey, Confessions, 1822, Chesterfield's letters, 1774, Smollett, Humphrey Clinker, 1771, Fielding, Tom Jones, 1749, Sterne, Sentimental Journey, 1768, Johnson, Rasselas, 1759, and many others, Boswell's Life, 1791, with the very rare cancelled leaf, a very choice collection of books with fore-edge paintings, fine sets of Ackermann's Schools and Colleges, Heideloff's Galery of Fashion (with the 9th vol.), Surtees' sporting novels, and others coloured plates, etc.; The autograph letters, etc., include Poetical manuscripts of William Cowper and Robert Browning, extremely fine letters of Charles Lamb, S. T.
